Singing it Loud: self-compassion through songwriting
I used to get annoyed at people who talked about how unfair their problems were — how ignored and invisible they felt. I told myself to stay quiet, not make a fuss, not complain. What I realised, though, is those quiet thoughts and loud judgements were more towards myself than anyone else. It took a friendship, and a slow burn of self-awareness, to turn that around — to start making space for my own story. And then, eventually, to start singing it loud.

Recovery isn't a destination. It's a skillset. (And I think there are 4 of them)
I used to think recovery meant waiting for the "old me" to return. She didn't. Instead, I found that recovery is a skill—specifically, a narrative transformation. Through songwriting, I developed a 4-part model to navigate life after sexual violence: Mindfulness, Befriending, Voicing, and Collaborating. Shame loves silence, but this model offers a way to speak. Discover the research behind my upcoming album and why I believe we don't just "recover"—we transform.
